International golf runs on a calendar most spectators only see one event of at a time. This guide puts the whole picture in one place: every men’s and women’s major, the full 2026 DP World Tour and PGA Tour schedules, and the golf industry’s own calendar, before going deep on the four events that define international spectator golf right now: Ryder Cup 2027 at Adare Manor, the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, the Presidents Cup, and The Open Championship.

Right now, three of those four have had major ticket news in the last eight weeks. Ryder Cup 2027 Adare Manor general admission sold out on 29 June 2026, twelve times oversubscribed, making it the hardest ticket on this entire calendar. The Open’s 2027 ballot at St Andrews closed in late July, with results still landing in waves. The DP World Tour Championship and Presidents Cup remain on direct sale. This guide covers exactly where things stand today, plus the entry-requirements and connectivity reality of a season that crosses Ireland, the UK, and the UAE.

Five things that you should know

  1. Ryder Cup 2027 general admission is sold out. Twelve times oversubscribed.
  2. The Open’s 2027 ballot has also closed, with results releasing in waves through August and September 2026.
  3. The 2026 Presidents Cup is in the United States, at Medinah, not overseas. The next edition outside the US is 2028, at Kingston Heath, Melbourne.
  4. DP World Tour Championship general admission is free on Thursday, pre-registration required.
  5. The 2026 Open has already been played. Ryan Fox won at Royal Birkdale, a record 306,000 in attendance.

Ryder Cup 2027: Adare Manor, Ireland

US Golf Championships

Ryder Cup 2027 Adare Manor runs 13–19 September 2027, County Limerick, the 100th anniversary staging and Ireland’s second time hosting after The K Club in 2006. General admission is sold out. What remains: ticket-inclusive hotel packages, a limited number of Premium Experiences, and a local resident allocation for one practice day.

Four build-up days run Monday 13 to Thursday 16 September, followed by competition days Friday 17 to Sunday 19. Europe arrive as holders of Ryder Cup 2027 Adare Manor after winning 15–13 at Bethpage Black in September 2025, the first away win by either side since Europe at Medinah in 2012. Luke Donald captains Europe for a third time; Jim Furyk captains the United States for a second.

Why Adare Manor & what to expect

The course is a Tom Fazio redesign, rebuilt from the ground up in 2016–2017 and reopened in 2018, following the routing of Robert Trent Jones Sr’s original 1995 layout but sharing little else with it. Par 72 at 7,509 yards, along the River Maigue on an 840-acre estate, with 14 of 18 greens elevated and only 42 bunkers. JP McManus bought the estate in 2015 and has hosted the JP McManus Pro-Am there since, most recently in 2022.

Demand has been extraordinary:

  • Daily site capacity: 55,000.
  • Total week attendance expected to exceed 250,000.
  • Ballot: 12 times oversubscribed.
  • Ticket holders from 80 countries, with island of Ireland fans at 34% of the total.

Tickets & hospitality packages

General admission for Ryder Cup 2027 Adare Manor is sold out; the ballot closed 29 June 2026, and the Irish priority window sold out in under an hour. For context on where the market sits:

TicketPrice
Daily GA, Friday/Saturday/Sunday€499
The Green (premium daily), match days€899
Weekly pass€1,999
Thursday, includes Opening Ceremony€179
Tuesday/Wednesday practice daysfrom €89
Under-16, practice daysfrom €20
Under-16, Thursday€30

That €499 daily rate is roughly a 92% increase on the €250–260 charged at Marco Simone in Rome in 2023, the highest ever for a European-staged Ryder Cup, though still below the $750 charged at Bethpage Black in 2025.

With general admission gone, three routes remain: Ryder Cup Travel Services (the official ticket-inclusive hotel package provider), a limited number of Premium Experiences through the official site, and the SuperValu Community Day, a Tuesday practice-day allocation for island of Ireland residents only. Treat any resale offer as a real risk: tickets cannot legally be resold, and Ryder Cup Europe actively cancels any found on secondary platforms.

Where to stay in County Limerick

Adare Manor itself is closed to public bookings for the entire event period (1–30 September 2027), since it houses the teams and officials. The official alternative is a purpose-built campsite at Mountwilliam, adjacent to the fifth fairway, operated by Pink Moon, running around €151–176 per person per night and sold only to confirmed ticket holders.

Limerick City, 20–30 minutes from Adare, is the closest practical base. Killarney, Cork, and Galway sit 60–90 minutes out as alternatives. Shannon Airport is about 30 minutes from Limerick City; Dublin Airport is roughly two hours away. Private whole-house rentals in the area are advertised from roughly €26,000 to €65,000 for the week, worth treating as asking prices rather than a realistic market rate.

DP World Tour Championship: Dubai

Golf Holidays in New Zealand, Australia & Southern Europe

The DP World Tour Championship runs 12–15 November 2026 at the Earth Course, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, for a $10 million purse, the largest on the 2026 DP World Tour schedule. General admission is free on Thursday with pre-registration, the single most underreported fact in international golf ticketing this year.

The event has run at Jumeirah Golf Estates since 2009 and closes the DP World Tour Play-Offs, following the Abu Dhabi Championship the week before. The field is the top 50 available players in the Race to Dubai standings, no cut, 72 holes. The Race to Dubai winner takes the Harry Vardon Trophy, and the top 10 in the final rankings share a $6 million bonus pool.

Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick beat Rory McIlroy in a playoff in November 2025 for his third win at the event; McIlroy still took his seventh Harry Vardon Trophy, a fourth in a row. The Earth Course, a Greg Norman design, plays over 7,700 yards, one of the longest tests on the tour calendar.

Tickets & attending in Dubai

The official 2026 ticket structure runs in five tiers, from free general admission up to a full hospitality chalet:

ProductFrom (AED)What it includes
General Admission0Free Thursday with pre-registration; paid Fri–Sun. Under-17s free but must register. Max 4/day
Ticket+160GA plus access to the Greatest Bar on Earth viewing platform at the par-3 17th
Earth Lounge890Chalet on the 16th green, meals, drinks, parking and shuttles. Over-12s only
Championship Chalet2,00018th fairway views, live cooking stations, 1st tee viewing platform. Over-12s only
DP World Tour Breakfast Club200Networking breakfast inside the Championship Chalet

Jumeirah Golf Estates is roughly a 30-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, and November falls within Dubai’s genuinely comfortable golf-watching season for DP World Tour Championship attendees, well ahead of the summer heat that makes other months impractical.

Presidents Cup

Golf Holidays in New Zealand, Australia & Southern Europe

The 2026 Presidents Cup runs 22–27 September (competition 24–27) at Medinah Country Club Course No. 3 outside Chicago, and it’s the United States hosting this edition, not an international venue. The next Presidents Cup outside the US is 2028, at Kingston Heath in Melbourne, Australia.

Medinah is the fifth different US venue to host the Presidents Cup, and Course No. 3 arrives with real pedigree: it has previously staged the 2019 BMW Championship, the 2012 Ryder Cup, two PGA Championships, three US Opens, the 1988 US Senior Open, and three Western Opens (the tournament now known as the BMW Championship), among other professional championships.

Tickets & pricing for 2026

General admission starts at $50 for Tuesday and Wednesday practice rounds, running $100 to $135 for the Thursday-to-Sunday competition days on dynamic pricing. Presidents Cup tickets for International Club hospitality start at $500 on Wednesday and run $700 to $850 on competition days. Parking passes start at $17 and must be reserved in advance.

A Presidents Cup competition day at $100 to $135 sits at roughly a quarter of a Ryder Cup competition day at €499, for the same match-play format. One structural difference matters too: the Presidents Cup pays no prize money at all, with proceeds going to charities nominated by the participants.

2028: Kingston Heath, the edition that matters for international travel

Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne hosts in 2028, a Dan Soutar design from 1925 with bunkering shaped by Alister MacKenzie in 1926, and the first Australian Presidents Cup venue other than Royal Melbourne (1998, 2011, 2019). It’s the fourth Melbourne staging overall, under a long-term PGA Tour deal with Visit Victoria that also brings the event back to Melbourne in 2040. After Kingston Heath, 2030 goes to Bellerive Country Club in St Louis.

The Open Championship

International Golf Championships

The 2026 Open has already been played, won by Ryan Fox at Royal Birkdale on 19 July, a record 306,000 in attendance. The next edition, the 155th, runs at the Old Course, St Andrews, with championship days 15–18 July 2027 and practice from 11 July. The Open Championship tickets for 2027 were sold through a public ballot that closed 24 July 2026, with results still releasing in waves.

St Andrews has hosted The Open 30 times, more than any other venue, and demand for The Open Championship tickets there consistently outstrips every other rota course. Ryan Fox’s win makes him the fourth New Zealander to claim a major.

The Open ticket ballot: how it works

The ballot is free to enter but requires membership in One Club, The R&A’s free digital membership program, a separate step from applying itself. The 2027 window ran 6–24 July 2026, with results releasing in waves through August and September. Successful applicants buy at face value with seven days to complete the purchase.

For 2027, record ticket prices run:

DayAdult price
Sunday–Wednesday practice days£40–£70
Thursday/Friday, rounds 1–2£150 each
Saturday, round 3£170
Sunday, final round£190

That final-round price is up £40 on the 2026 edition. Under-16s go free with an adult, and 16-to-24-year-olds get discounted Youth tickets, both still requiring a ballot application. If you miss out on The Open Championship tickets, the only safe resale route is The R&A’s own official platform for One Club members.

Where to stay near the host course

St Andrews itself is a small town with limited hotel inventory that sells out fast once dates are confirmed. Dundee, about 15 minutes away, and Edinburgh, roughly an hour south with its own airport, are the practical fallback bases.

Scottish & Irish Open

International Golf Championships
International Golf Championships

The Genesis Scottish Open runs 9–12 July 2026 at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, the week before The Open Championship. The 2025 edition set an attendance record, with Chris Gotterup beating Rory McIlroy for his first win on European soil. The Green on 18 is sold out for 2026, leaving the Thistle Club as the only remaining premium option.

The Amgen Irish Open runs 9–13 September 2026 at Trump International Golf Links Ireland in Doonbeg, County Clare, the first time the Irish Open has been played there and the first time at a Trump-owned course anywhere in Europe.

Rory McIlroy defends after a playoff win at The K Club in 2025. General admission runs from roughly €35, with Green on 18 hospitality at €549 per person plus VAT for the Thursday. Scottish & Irish Open tickets are sold directly, without a ballot, at prices well below the four flagship events above, making both a genuinely accessible add-on for a first-time international golf trip.

Comparing US vs. international golf championships

Lining up all four events side by side makes the pattern obvious in a way no single section can:

Ryder Cup 2027Presidents Cup 2026The Open 2027DP World Tour Champ. 2026
Competition day GA€499 (sold out)$100–$135£150–£190Paid Fri–Sun, free Thu
How you buyBallot (closed)Direct saleBallot, One Club requiredDirect sale
Practice day GAfrom €89from $50£40–£70N/A

The ballot events charge the most, and one structural difference cuts across everything: the Presidents Cup pays no prize money at all, while the DP World Tour Championship carries a $10 million purse plus a $6 million bonus pool. For a comparison covering the American side of this same spectator experience, attending US golf championships covers that ground.

Entry requirements: the part most golf guides skip

  • Ireland is not in the Schengen Area and runs its own visa system. A UK ETA does not admit you to Ireland.
  • The UK ETA is mandatory for visa-exempt visitors, full enforcement since 25 February 2026, fee £20 as of 8 April 2026, valid two years for stays up to six months. Airlines check it at boarding.
  • ETIAS is not yet live. The EU’s earlier Q4 2026 target has been removed from official guidance, with 2027 now more likely, so check the current status closer to travel.

Staying connected in Ireland, the UK & the UAE

In Ireland, standard EU roam-like-at-home rules mean an EU SIM already works on domestic allowances. In the UK, free EU roaming is no longer guaranteed post-Brexit: O2, giffgaff, and some SMARTY plans still include it, while EE, Vodafone, and Three charge roughly £2–£3.25 a day.

The UAE is more complicated. Buying a local SIM there has required passport or Emirates ID registration since 2023. On calling specifically: most sources describe WhatsApp and FaceTime voice and video calls as blocked at the network level, with messaging working normally; at least one more recent source describes the restriction as narrower. The safe framing: messaging works reliably, calling has historically been restricted, and it’s worth checking the current position before you travel.

Rather than juggling three carriers’ roaming terms across Ireland, the UK, and the UAE, a single eSIM covering all three removes that friction. Yesim covers all three individually or as part of a broader European and Middle East itinerary.

The bottom line

International golf’s calendar runs year-round across dozens of events, but ticket-wise, right now: Ryder Cup 2027 Adare Manor general admission is gone, The Open’s 2027 ballot has closed, and the 2026 Presidents Cup isn’t the international event this guide is otherwise about. What’s left is real and bookable: hospitality packages, the DP World Tour Championship’s direct-sale tickets with a genuinely free Thursday, and Scottish & Irish Open tickets for a lower-stakes add-on. Whichever combination of Adare Manor, the DP World Tour Championship, and the UK ends up on your calendar, sort out entry requirements and connectivity for Ireland, Dubai, and the UK separately rather than assuming one set of rules covers all three.

FAQ

General admission is gone. The ballot closed 29 June 2026 and sold out twelve times over. What remains: ticket-inclusive hotel packages through Ryder Cup Travel Services, a limited number of Premium Experiences, and a SuperValu Community Day allocation for island of Ireland residents.

The DP World Tour's season finale, played on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai since 2009. The 2026 edition runs 12–15 November for a $10 million purse, and general admission is free on Thursday with pre-registration.

For 2026 at Medinah, general admission starts at $50 for practice days and runs $100 to $135 for competition days. Presidents Cup tickets for the next international venue, Kingston Heath in Melbourne, will follow in 2028.

Join One Club, then submit a separate ballot application during the window, which ran 6–24 July 2026 for the 2027 event at St Andrews. Entering is free; you only pay if drawn, at face value.
