Roamic sells some of the cheapest travel eSIM plans around, yet reviews are split. Some travelers report smooth data. Others report slow “unlimited” plans and slow support.
The Roamic review below looks at what it costs, how its unlimited plans behave and what travelers report. It also covers setup and refunds, and says who Roamic fits. The facts come from roamic.com. Where third-party reviews disagree with the site, we say so.
What is Roamic eSIM?

Roamic is a travel eSIM provider. It sells digital data plans for use abroad. You buy online and scan a QR code, with no physical SIM card. According to the official website, Roamic covers more than 190 countries. Its Trustpilot profile lists a business address in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain.
How does Roamic eSIM work?
You buy an eSIM online. An email brings a QR code and a code for manual setup. Install the profile via QR code, then switch the line on at your destination and turn on data roaming. It is a data-only eSIM and needs an eSIM phone with no carrier lock. Check your device eSIM compatibility before you pay.
Is Roamic eSIM legit?
Is Roamic legit? It runs a working store with card, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. It publishes a refund policy, a fair usage policy and a 24/7 support promise. Trustpilot gives it an “Excellent” label, though it does not fact-check reviews. Other reviews are mixed, as the traveler section shows.
What do Roamic eSIM plans cost?
Pricing for eSIM data plans depends on country, data amount and validity. The store for Spain showed euros on October 22, 2026. The US store bills in USD, so check the amount at checkout. Homepage “from” prices are €0.99 for Europe and Turkey, and €1.99 for the United States and Japan.
Unsure how much you need? Use the Yesim data calculator.
What are Roamic’s fixed data plans?
A fixed data plan is a package with a set amount of data and a set number of days. Roamic offers 1 GB to 50 GB and 7 days to 30 days across destinations.
| Plan type | Data | Validity | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed data plan (country) | US page: 1 GB €1.99, 3 GB €2.99, 5 GB €4.99, 10 GB €7.99, 20 GB €14.99, 50 GB €37.99 | 7, 15, 21 or 30 days | AT&T and Verizon, 4G and 5G, hotspot yes, data only, starts on first data use. The US plan excludes Canada and Mexico |
| Fixed data plan (regional) | Smaller caps in some regions. 1 to 5 GB for Africa and 1 to 10 GB for South America | Varies | Homepage “from” prices: Asia €6.99, South America €9.99. North America has its own regional eSIM plan |
| Unlimited plan | 3 GB of high-speed data per day, then 1 Mbps | You choose the days, but a 30-day plan is a maximum | Fair usage policy applies. With no unlimited option in the Africa and South America regional plans |
How do Roamic’s “unlimited” plans and the fair usage policy work?
An unlimited eSIM from Roamic is not unlimited at full speed. The fair usage policy gives 3 GB of high-speed data per 24 hours. After that, speed drops to 1 Mbps for the rest of the cycle. The allowance resets the next cycle. There is no extra charge for passing the cap.
The policy says the limit may vary by country or region. One Tripadvisor user cites fine print of 5 to 10 GB per day, which we did not find. Other users report data throttling after 1 to 2 GB.
Three gigabytes covers maps, messaging and social feeds on most days. HD video uses data fast, so a streaming day can hit the high-speed data cap early. At 1 Mbps, messaging still loads. Maps are slow, and video calls often fail. See how long mobile data lasts. Fair usage is standard practice among eSIM providers. The policy also limits heavy hotspot tethering on unlimited plans.
Does Roamic eSIM have good coverage?
Roamic uses local network partners in each country. Connectivity depends on the destination and on where you are inside it. Rural areas are slower with any SIM.
Which countries and networks does Roamic cover?
Roamic states 190+ countries, including Middle East destinations such as the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Confirm your country on the plan page. The US plan page lists AT&T and Verizon. Travelers in Japan report SoftBank, Rakuten Mobile and au. A traveler in Albania reports the One.al network.
Do you need to turn on data roaming?
Yes. Roamic’s FAQ says to set the eSIM as your primary data line and turn on data roaming. Many “not working” reports start with this missing step.

How do you install and activate Roamic eSIM?
Install the eSIM at home on stable Wi-Fi. The plan does not use data until you connect at your destination.
How do you install Roamic eSIM step by step?
Follow these steps:
- Buy a plan on roamic.com.
- Open the email with the QR code and the code for manual setup.
- Install the profile: Settings, Cellular, Add eSIM on iPhone, or Settings, Network & internet, SIMs, Add eSIM on Android.
- Choose the eSIM as the line for mobile data.
- Turn on data roaming for that line.
- Check that the internet works when you arrive.
A locked phone cannot install any eSIM. If it refuses, unlock your phone for eSIM first.
Yesim tip: scan the QR code once, over Wi-Fi, before you travel. A QR code usually works for one install.
Why is my Roamic eSIM not working?
If your Roamic eSIM is not working, check this list:
- Turn on data roaming for the eSIM line and select it for mobile data.
- Switch airplane mode on and off, then restart the phone.
- Choose the network manually.
- Check that the plan fits your country. A country plan and a regional eSIM plan are different products.
- On Android, turn off the data limit in Settings, Connections, Data usage. Roamic’s FAQ says some phones show a default 2 GB warning.
- Keep the profile installed until you have contacted support, then write with screenshots.
The steps are similar for other providers. See for example how to address Holafly eSIM not working.
What are Roamic’s support and refund policy?
Support and refunds are the main disputes in reviews.
What support channels does Roamic offer?
Roamic’s customer support is promised around the clock by live chat and email, per its FAQ. The site also links a WhatsApp number. The Trustpilot profile lists a Spanish phone number and the email info@roamic.com. We did not see a phone line on the FAQ pages. Reviews on reply speed differ.
Is there a Roamic app?
The FAQ does not list a separate Roamic app. It points to MyOzu for orders and top-ups and calls it both an app and a web platform. One user reports finding no app, while a Trustpilot reviewer calls the app handy for checking usage. Confirm how top-ups work before you buy.
What are Roamic’s refund conditions?
The six-month rule is confirmed on the roamic.com homepage. The other two cases follow Holafly’s summary of October 14, 2026.
- Unused eSIM: a full refund within 6 months if the eSIM is not activated or used.
- Incompatible or locked device: a full refund if the eSIM was never installed.
- Connection problems: a full or partial refund if the issue comes from Roamic or the local network. You must contact support during the trip.
Write to support from where you are, with screenshots of the error and your settings.
Why doesn’t Roamic eSIM include a phone number?
Roamic is a data-only eSIM with no number, calls or SMS, like most travel eSIM packages. Your own number stays on your main physical SIM card, and both lines can run at once.
Three options work for calls and codes:
- Call over the internet with WhatsApp, FaceTime or Telegram.
- Keep your home SIM active for SMS and incoming calls.
- Use Yesim virtual numbers for SMS codes or calls.
What are the pros and cons of Roamic eSIM?
The table sums up the verified points.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Competitive prices | Speed cap on unlimited plans (3 GB per day, then 1 Mbps) |
| Wide coverage by country count | Unlimited capped at 30 days and not in every region, per Holafly |
| Instant QR code installation | No phone number and no SMS |
| Flexible data amount and validity | Mixed reviews on support, speed in some places and refunds |
| Published refund rules | A refund for connection problems needs a support request during the trip |
| Good reviews for Japan, UAE, Albania, Turkey and Norway | Country count shown as 190+ and 150+ on the site |
Who should choose Roamic eSIM and who should look elsewhere?
Roamic may suit you in these cases:
- You take a short trip and price matters most.
- You use moderate data, mostly maps and messaging.
- You travel to a destination with positive reports, such as Japan or the UAE.
- You will read the plan terms before you buy.
When should you consider alternatives?
Look at other eSIM providers in these cases:
- You need real unlimited data with no daily threshold.
- You stream a lot of video or work remotely.
- You need fast and predictable support.
- You need a number for calls and SMS.
- Your trip is longer than 30 days.
- You want an app to add data during the trip.
What are the alternatives to Roamic eSIM?
Roamic fits some trips well, and other trips need different terms. Travelers usually look for another travel eSIM provider for a few reasons. Common ones are a daily data cap, a trip over 30 days, no phone number or slower support.
Compare any provider on the same points: the fair usage policy, the refund window and the app. Then check the number option and support.

| Data cap behavior | 3 GB per day at high speed, then 1 Mbps | Speed may be limited under the network operator’s fair usage policy. The plan page gives no daily gigabyte figure |
| App | No separate Roamic app. MyOzu handles orders | Yesim app for iPhone and Android with one-tap install |
| Top-up | Through MyOzu | Available in the app and on the website |

Which Yesim plan matches your trip?
Match the scenario to a plan:
- One short trip to one country: a fixed data plan. See eSIM for the USA or eSIM for Japan.
- Frequent trips, paying for what you use: Yesim Pay & Fly.
- Heavy data across several countries: the Yesim Unlim Day Pass.
- SMS codes and incoming calls: Yesim virtual numbers, linked above.
- Unsure how much data you need: the data calculator, linked above.
Ready to compare? Download the Yesim app and check plans for your destination.
Yesim tip: read the fair usage terms on any unlimited plan before paying, for every eSIM provider. They set the real speed after the daily limit.

Final verdict: is Roamic eSIM worth it?
Roamic is a workable budget option for a short trip with moderate use. It works best in destinations with positive reports, such as Japan and the UAE. It fits less well if you need true unlimited data, predictable support or a phone number. Plan terms matter more than price.
Check this before you buy:
- The fair usage terms on the plan page.
- Coverage for your exact country.
- Device compatibility and carrier lock.
- Refund conditions and the support channel you will use.
If another provider fits your trip better, pick a Yesim plan for your destination, such as eSIM for the USA. You can read Yesim reviews first.
